Open mouth….

…insert my wide, sweaty foot.

If I could take back my lame and hopeful wishes now, I would.

Both kids are allergic to gluten, dairy, AND eggs. Tiny Boy also sensitive to peanuts. They both have an intestinal parasite, and colonic yeast infections.

Insert my hysterical tears here. This news has hit me pretty hard, and while not the end of the world, it does spell the end of our nutritional world as we know it.

I go back on Monday for the rest of Tiny Boy's test results, and to go over meal plans with the nutritionist. Now, I pick myself up by my bootstraps and figure out how to tell the kids they can not eat wheat, rye, barley, spelt, kamut, any form of dairy, and eggs.

Don’t feel bad about the yeast. The mini had it too. It’s easy to clear up and I’ll bet you’ll see a HUGE difference in them once they get it cleared up. Same with parasites. I know it really sucks about the allergies, but you definitely will notice a lot of weird behaviors clear up once you get rid of them and if you want to talk, you can email me. I know a lot of people who have cleared these issues up and have seen a reduction in allergies.

I was actually going to suggest they get tested, so I’m glad they did.

You should see an acupuncturist; many of them can clear up allergies like these in a day for a given allergy. I often feel like a cultist talking about it, but our acupuncturist has worked wonders for us, including Rachel (no needles required).

I am so sorry, and sending many supportive hugs. Thank you for sharing about this, even though it is so difficult. You are going above and beyond as a mom to do the best you can by these kids. They are so blessed. Honestly reading about the major improvement in MC’s behavior makes me wonder if I should have HG checked out. Keep me posted.

Oh wow, that’s hard to hear. You can get a second opinion, although the best indicator is how their behavior changes through the change in diet.

First, get rid of the infection and the parasite, and see what improves. Second – allergy tests are not 100% reliable; and reactions and sensitivities do change as children grow and their body chemistry changes. There are also alternative therapies, such as the acupuncture already mentioned. Third, there’s an (adult) friend we know who lives on a no-gluten, no-dairy diet. We can put the two of you in-touch and see what’s worked for her.

    Good luck!

Bloglines has neglected to tell me about your last three posts until today!!

I’m so sorry this is the news you got, but hopefully the changes you make will result in happier kids!

I can imagine, though, that it’s going to be HARD for the next few weeks as you figure out how to do it. Thinking of you!!!
